Bicep Tendonitis

The bicep is the strong muscle in the front of the upper arm that flexes the forearm.

The bicep is particularly susceptible to overuse injuries, especially in individuals performing repetitive lifting activities. It is connected to the shoulder by a long tendon that passes through a groove in the upper arm bone (humerus). The bicep tendon, in turn, is held in the humerus by a ligament. If this ligament becomes injured or stretched, the tendon is not held firmly in place and it slides in the groove causing severe discomfort and pain and, in some cases, leads to bicipital tendinitis. Other causes of pain and discomfort may include poor lifting techniques and conditioning.

Tendinosis is another bicep problem and is caused by repetitive elbow flexion against resistance at the distal portion of the biceps at the elbow.

The triceps is the strong muscle at the back of the upper arm. It, too, is susceptible to injury. Tricipital tendinitis can develop at the triceps insertion in the elbow (olecronon) and can be caused by overuse and repetitive resisted elbow extension.

The Cho-Pat Bicep/Triceps Cuff applies dynamic circumference pressure to the upper and lower portions of the bicep and triceps muscles. This action spreads out the stress and direct pull on the muscle attachments which helps (1.) to reduce the likelihood of developing bicipital tendinitis/tendinosis or tricipital tendinitis (2.) to ease existing bicep/triceps’ pain and discomfort.

    Works OK

It works when I remember to put it on. Most of the time I just go ahead and complete the task without bothering to go find the strap, put it on and adjust it. When it is on it serves as a reminder to stay within my limits and to lift correctly.

    Cho-Pat Bicep/Tricep helps a little with pain

I've torn my bicep and after seeing several specialists they all agree not to do surgery for me to find light-duty work and repetitive actions cause a whole lot of pain I had therapy and purchased my home gym and didn't want meds for the pain anymore so I ordered the Cho-Pat Bicep/Tricep cuff, while this is not a very comfortable fit because the length of it goes down past my elbow so had to pull it up to my underarm to fit the pain has reduced by a fraction and this is day one but even at a fraction of pain reduction is work the money paid.

I got the bicep suppor for a torn bicep muscle. It helps me be able to workout with extra support. Great product.

Is the Cho-Pat Bicep/Triceps Cuff adjustable?

The Bicep/Triceps Cuff has adjustable hook and loop straps.

How to wear the Cho-Pat Bicep/Triceps Cuff?

The Cho-Pat Bicep/Triceps Cuff is universal and may be worn on either arm. Slide the strap onto the arm and position the straps just above and below the bicep with the larger loop at the top. Adjust the amount of compression by loosening or tightening the Velcro straps. Once you determine the appropriate length of the straps to provide a secure closure, cut off the remaining portion. Do not wear the Cho-Pat Bicep/Triceps Cuf so tight that it restricts circulation or prevents free movement of the arm. Do not wear while sleeping.

How to care for your Cho-Pat Bicep/Triceps Cuff?

Hand wash only. Use warm water with mild detergent. We recommend 2Toms StinkFree Sports Detergent. Squeeze out excess water and dry at normal room temperature. DO NOT twist or wring. Keep fasteners free of lint and threads.
