The Tuli’s HammerRx was designed by a leading foot and ankle surgeon to treat hammertoe. Hammertoe is identified as a toe that bends or curls downward instead of pointing forward. It is usually experienced on the middle joint of the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th toe, and occurs when there is an imbalance of muscles, tendons, and ligaments that normally keep the toe straight.
Over 7 million people in the U.S. have experienced hammertoe, and is often caused by ill-fitting shoes, high arches, or a trauma. Other risk factors include age, sex, toe length, arthritis, and diabetes.
